In June of 1999, Sarah earned a B.F.A. in Dance from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and began her career as an AFAA certified Personal Trainer. By starting at New York Sports Club, Sarah accumulated a wealth of experience working with clients of varying fitness types and interests. She also received her AAAI/ISMA Pre and Post Natal Certification in 2000. However, she left NYSC in 2002 to pursue additional credentials and work with private clients.
Sarah completed a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification through Om Yoga Center in 2002 and has taught all over the city, most notably at the Kula Yoga Project, and Sal Anthony’s Movement Salon. In 2006, Sarah also became a Cancer Exercise Specialist, and around this time, she also joined the inSHAPE team and began working with our private clients. Despite the increasingly hectic schedule, Sarah began assisting physical therapists in a clinical setting in November of 2007 and earned her Pilates Reformer Certification in June 2008. She has found that this diverse skill set allows her to focus on each client's individual needs and customize programs that help people overcome their challenges and meet their fitness goals.
"I learn something new from every client I work with. I believe in the balance of sweaty hard work, nourishing food, deep relaxation, and a light heart whenever possible.”
